GCHFH Dedicates 93rd Home to Sherry Hutson
On October 22nd, Habitat dedicated its 93rd home at 210 Regal Street to Sherry Hutson and her
son, Tay'Veon. Sherry and her son were welcomed home with wonderful gifts donated by "Sew
What" Quilters, Brush Strokes, the Whitfield Garden Club, The Rice Depot, Whitington Valley
Neighborhood Association and the Community of Christ Church. Steve Trusty, the president of
Habitat Board of Directors, presented Sherry a Bible; while Gordon Hegg presented Sherry the key
to her new home. The morning ended on a high note with Fedette Johnson singing How Great
Thou Art.
Christmas Party, 2011
The 2011 Habitat for Humanity Christmas party was held at the home of John and Helen Selig on December 4th. The party was catered by Cafe
1217 and honored our dedicated volunteers that help us throughout the year.
GCHFH Dedicates 94th Home to Camille Hannah
On December 3, 2011, Habitat for Humanity dedicated its 94th home at 206 Regal Street to Camille Hannah and her daughter, Floradia. This
house is sponsored by the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Camille received welcome gifts from The Whittington Valley Neighborhood
Assoication, the "Sew What" Quilting Club, Brush Strokes, the Whitfield Garden Club, the Rice Depot & Project Hope and the Community of
Christ Church. The highlight of the dedication was a performance by New Beginnings Christian Ministries Praise Dance team.
Habitat ReStore Grand Reopening
Dick Mattson, Mayor Ruth Carney, Larry Brogdon and John Goodman
cut the ribbon at the ReStore Grand Opening on January 2, 2012. The
new store is located at 350 Malvern Avenue.
